Halwa Hearts
These Halwa Hearts are my spin on the geometric cake heart trend. Instead of filling the chocolate hearts with cake and icing, I filled them with carrot halwa or Gajar ka halwa.
They are enclosed in a white chocolate shell, which pairs really well with the halwa. I enjoyed eating them with some warm custard.
I show you two different design options as well, so look super pretty.
They are perfect for valentines day, or any day you want to make someone feel special with this treat!

Total Time:
Prep time 25 mins
Not including making the halwa filling
Makes 12 hearts

Chocolate/ candy thermometer

1/4 cup chopped pistachios and almonds
Candy melts in 3 colors ( 1oz /30 grams each )
Red, Orange and Peach
8 oz white chocolate for molds
3 oz white chocolate for decorating
super gold luster dust
few drops lemon extract
gold leaf
fancy sprinkles
METHOD:
Melt candy melts and brush half of the molds with the 3 colors one at a time, to create a water color effect
Pop them in the fridge

Temper the white chocolate. chop it up and heat in microwave for 15 second bursts, stirring in between
Use a chocolate thermometer and do not let the temperature go over 85 F
once it is melted and ready brush it on to half the molds. Do 2 coats
brush over painted candy melt hearts as well
pop in the fridge
clean up the edges with a scraper
Fill the hearts with some halwa, add chopped nuts and top off with more halwa and press it in

spread the left over white chocolate over the halwa to seal it. Heat it slightly if it has started to harden

clean up edges with palette knife
pop in the fridge for 10 minutes
unmold them carefully. Pull the mold away from each heart gently
paint the plain ones with gold luster dust mixed with lemon extract

melt the rest of the white chocolate, put in a piping bag and cut off a tiny bit of the tip, to make a small hole
drizzle white chocolate on a corner of the heart and attach sprinkles

for the other water color hearts, press some gold leaf on
and repeat the white chocolate drizzle and sprinkles

Enjoy!

Some helpful tips:
Temper the chocolate in a plastic or silicone bowl so it does not over heat
